I’m delighted to be invited to speak at the UK’s NWTN (North West Translator’s Network) Boost Your Business day on the 21st of January 2011.
The event will help translators and interpreters kick-start their business in January with a fresh look at business planning, marketing, sales negotiation, and assertiveness.
Topics to be covered:
• SWOT analysis workshop – get to know your strength and weaknesses, and make them work for you
• Business plan clinic – learn how to put together your own tailored business plan
• Sales negotiation – work less, earn more
• Assertiveness workshop – how to get your points across successfully
I’ll be joined by experienced and popular speakers that will help attendees take charge of their business and future as language professionals. Nick Rosenthal, Philippa Hammond and Heidi Kerschl will share their knowledge, tips and tricks – where to start, how to plan, and how to start a road to success.
Time and place: Saturday, 21st January 2012, YHA Potato Wharf, Manchester, 9.30am – 5.30pm
Nick and Heidi will do an “Alan Sugar & Carol” thing on SWOT and business plans. If there’s time we might also do a round-table on sales and marketing strategies to round off. Details closer to the time, but this ‘early announcement’ should allow you to pencil this great event onto your calendar.
The North-West Translators’ Network is a network of independent translators and interpreters. They offer a wide range of language combinations and subject areas and the expertise of all our members.
